Chinese embassy in Cyprus flag was flown at half-mast to mourn the martyrs and compatriots who died in the fight against COVID 19

On April 4, 2020, in accordance with the unified deployment of the central government, the Chinese embassy in Cyprus and Chinese embassies and consulates in other countries collectively lowered the flag at half-staff to express their deep condolences to the martyrs and compatriots who died in the fight against COVID 19. At 10 am, the embassy was solemn. Ambassador Huang Xingyuan and his wife, counselor Wang Sheng and the staff stood in silence for three minutes.

Ambassador Huang Xingyuan said that the State Council decided to hold a National Day of mourning today. Together with the people of the whole country, we cherish the grief with a heavy heart and pin our sorrow on the dead. Qingming is a retrospect of the past, also hope for the future. We remember our ancestors, mourn the dead, pay tribute to the martyrs, and give thanks to the heroes; we remember the pain, protect the history, cherish the present, and look forward to the future.
